Micaela Pirzio-Biroli is an interdisciplinary artist and performer based in Philadelphia, whose creative practice celebrates artmaking as a labor of love. Through their work in sculpture, dance, visual art and puppetry, Micaela strives to create objects, experiences and gifts with the power to pour strength into the forces which sustain this world, and to serve as acts of resistance against the dysfunctional systems that do not. Drawing inspiration from their autistic, queer, and Korean-American identity, Micaela works between 2d and 3d mediums to map living, breathing gestures of bodily and visual imagination, translating stories fluidly between marks on paper and gestures in space.
